Here Are 7 Habits of Highly Successful People You Can Put to Use Today

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”Abraham Lincoln

One of the habits of highly successful people is to consistently pursue their goals. These people realize that as long as you stay consistent in your efforts, you will be successful.

Success brings confidence and a feeling of excellence that transmits positive energy to others. This aura can further propel you in the direction of your goals and dreams.

Here are 7 habits of highly successful people that will help you pursue the sweet life you crave:

1. Get a Coach or Mentor

One of the habits of highly successful people is to find a coach or a mentor. That’s because they know that a coach can help you to get ahead in your career, refine specific skills, or help you get in the best shape of your life.

• Having a coach or a mentor to help you along the way will smooth your path and will substantially shorten the time it takes to achieve your goal.

• Seek someone who’s already been down the path or at least a similar one and continues to excel to act as a guide. See if you can take them out for coffee and pick their brain. While you’re with them have your specific questions to ask and then listen to what they say.

2. Don’t Worry about What Other People Think

No matter who you are there are always going to be people that talk bad about you and put you down. Forget about what others think of you and focus on how you feel about yourself.

• People don’t really care what you want; they simply want what they want. This goes for everyone including well intentioned mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, etc. In order for you to succeed you need to stop listening to what other people want for you and go after your own dreams.

3. Know What You Want

It’s important to nail down your goals because if you don’t know where you’re going anywhere you end up will be just fine. Nothing can derail your efforts for success like being unsure about what you want.

• If you are having difficulties figuring out you goals, sit down and take a hour or so to write out where you want to be physically, spiritually and mentally in the next year, three years, five years, and ten years.

• As you begin to create a compelling future it will pull you toward the success you’re seeking.

4. Embrace the Positive People in your Life

One of the habits of highly successful people is they surround themselves with positive people. Stop handing around those that belly ache, complain, make unhealthy choices, or in any other way bring negativity into your life.

• Find people that are upbeat, happy, interested in improving themselves and are committed to personal achievement to hang out with. There’s an excellent chance you’ll begin modeling their feelings and behaviors. Practicing their way of living will put you on the path to success.

5. Learn from Your Failures

Instead of thinking of something that didn’t work out as a failure think of it as a learning opportunity. Rather than reacting negatively to the mistakes you’ve made, study them and find the lessons in them.

• Learning from your mistakes will help you get a little better with each attempt. This process will provide you with the information you need to succeed.

6. Do Something Every Day that Brings You Closer to Your Goals

Each day before you start write out a number of tasks that take you in the direction of your goals.          This is one of the easiest ways to infuse goal achievement into your daily life. This is one of the best habits of highly successful people.

• Let’s say you want to save $10,000 for a down payment on a new car. At the end of each day, place all your change in your money jar. At the end of each week add a $50 or $100 bill. You can literally watch your goal come to fruition.

• Doing something daily that brings you toward your goal is how you make goal achievement a habit. These are the types of habits that make you feel happier, more in control, and increasingly confident.

7. Visualization

At the beginning and end of each day take some time to visualize your goals. See them as if they were already accomplished. Hear what people are telling you. Feel what it’s like to be successful.

• Be grateful for their accomplishment in advance.  Tell yourself “I am so happy and grateful that I am (whatever your goal is).”

• If you have trouble visualizing your goals, make an appointment with a certified hypnotherapist or Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner. They can help you develop a strategy for developing your powers  of visualization.
