Sometimes you end up around people who don’t share the same goals and values as you. The key is to limit the time you spend with them.
What are the people you spend the majority of your time with like? Are they the type of people that lift you up and make you feel better about yourself or are they people who constantly try to put you down and make you feel crummy?
If they are the last group then it’s time to find some people who boost your self-esteem to hang out with.

Spend your time with people who build you up.
Today I want you to think of people who boost your self-esteem and want to spend more time with. Look for supportive, uplifting people, people you respect and lift you up.
How can you connect with these positive people? Find out what they like to do and what you have in common. You can often find groups of these people at places of worship, civic groups or even on-line.
Also be sure to avoid the cynics and make a list of the people you want to avoid. This will keep your self-esteem right where it should be.
