On the other hand, people with a strong sense of self-esteem (self-worth) take the time to plan your day in advance. This way they KNOW what they are doing tomorrow. This allows them to invest in the activities they feel are most worthwhile.

The Importance of Planning Your Day in Advance 
People will do what’s on their schedule. So they best way to insure you are going to get the important things done in your life is to plan them in advance. Make sure that you include those personal or family tasks because, if you don’t include them they can be easy to overlook.
Now if you don’t finish everything that’s okay. You can simply move the task to the top of your next day’s list.
Make a habit of writing down what tasks you need to accomplish every day at night before you go to bed. Not only will you sleep better, your subconscious mind will work on some of the tasks while you sleep, making them easier to accomplish the next day.
So start writing down tasks the night before. As you become consistent, you’ll get more accomplished and feel better too!
