A Foolproof Plan Build Your Self Confidence

Build Your Self Confidence

You Can Build Your Self Confidence

“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.”Arthur Ashe

The other day a client called me to ask if I could help them build their confidence for speaking in public using Neuro Linguistic Programming Techniques. The very next day someone dropped by my San Diego office because he was having issues meeting people, especially women.

These two people are very typical of many people that I see that are looking to build their self confidence. Good people who feel they are not able to succeed in a very important area of their life.

Do You Struggle With Your Self Confidence?

Do you, like my clients, struggle with speaking in public or meeting new people? Do you have a feeling like you can’t succeed?

A lack of belief in yourself is like a great barrier that blocks your success. In fact, if you don’t believe in yourself they are a great barrier because they nearly always prevent you from getting out of the starting gate.

In order to succeed at anything you need to believe in yourself. You need to build your self confidence.

The good news is there are some simple ways to build your self confidence and maintain good feeling about yourself through all life’s ups and downs.

Try these tips to help you boost your self-confidence through the roof:

1. Take an Inventory of Your Strengths

Take an inventory and then make a list of all of your strengths and capabilities. For example write down you’re reliable, intelligent, and have excellent physical and sports abilities.

You can also write down all the things that you seem to have a talent for but have never actually tried like playing the guitar or playing tennis.

• Just recognizing your positive qualities on paper will demonstrate all the reasons you have to be self-confident. This inventory will probably show you that you are already doing much better than you thought.

2. Write Down Your Major Accomplishments

Now that you’ve made a list of your major strengths and capabilities, write down all the amazing things you’ve already accomplished.

If you’re like most people you pay more attention to your failures instead of your successes. Try focusing on all the good stuff for a change.

By writing down all your good stuff you’re choosing to focus your thoughts on what’s good in your life. This is a wise choice.

3. Write Down Your Daily Accomplishments

At the end of each day, make a list of all the things you accomplished.

• Maybe you remembered to go to the gym, send a birthday card to your mom, finished a report, and helped your child with her math homework.

• While some of these things might seem trivial, each of these little things counts. Write them ALL down!

4. Set Yourself Up for Success

The ability to set and achieve goals is a great motivator. Each day set up a few easy to accomplish activities that will improve your life while giving you a sense of achievement.

For example, you might decide to exercise for 45 minutes or read for 15 minutes in the morning.

• You know how easy it is to put things off, procrastinate, and make excuses. Taking action, no matter how small, is a great way to build your confidence.

• As you stay your course and follow you plan you’ll learn to trust yourself that you’ll follow through and take care of business.

5. Take Care of Your Health and Appearance

Looking and feeling your best can help you build your self-confidence.

Invest in your health by taking the time to stay healthy and fit. You can also dress well and practice good grooming habits.

• People believe in people who look and feel great. So will you!

When you take care of yourself, you’ll start believing you deserve success. That’s a great way to build your self confidence level!

6. Set Goals that Build Your Self Confidence

Setting goals allows you find your perfect life partner, go on your ideal vacation or make your fortune.

Just make sure the goals you set are achievable.

7. Stretch Your Mind

A good way to build your self confidence is to continue stretching your mind by learning new things. This keeps your mind sharp and makes the world (and you) more interesting.

• Some things you can do to exercise your mind are staying up on current events, improving your vocabulary and playing mind games and doing brain teasers.

Use These Tips to Build Your Self Confidence Every Day

Self-confidence building is not accomplished in one day nor does one size fit all. It has to be cultivated over time and you need to develop it in all areas of your life.

Think of building your self-confidence like growing vegetables in a garden. It takes watering and care every day.

You can use these simple tips to build your self confidence and make your life more enjoyable. As you develop your self confidence you’ll find that your life is more fun and interesting.

Consider drawing up your own personalized self-confidence action plan. It can be incredibly rewarding.

By taking charge of your life, you’ll boost your self confidence even higher.
