Using Exercise for Reducing Anxiety

Reducing Anxiety “Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it.”   – Plato

One of the best and simplest things you can do when you’re feeling anxious is exercise. In fact exercise is one of the quickest ways of reducing anxiety.

Why Exercise Reduces Anxiety

Your mind makes chemicals and neurotransmitters that create the physical sensations we call “anxiety”. These feelings can be quickly reduced by just adding a little physical activity to your daily routine.

For example, just taking a quick walk around the block every day at lunch can make you feel better fast. If you really want to smooth out those anxious feelings you can try 30 minutes of strenuous exercise at the gym four or five times a week or running a mile or two.

Reducing anxiety can be quick and easy once you add a little exercise to your daily routine.

That’s it! Now keep an eye out for your next anxiety reducing tip.
