“Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws.”Douglass Adams

Want to feel bad quickly? It’s easy. All you have to do is pick up a newspaper, listen to the radio or watch the TV and read, watch or listen to the news. What you’ll find is that negative people and events are their focus. That’s what makes them anxious.

While I’m not saying you shouldn’t pay attention to what’s going on in the world, I am saying that you should limit your exposure to the news.

Why You Should Stop Reading, Watching or Listening to the News.

Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming Techniques

Learn to Stay Calm With Mindfulness

Think you can’t live without a constant dose of the news? Try this.

Visit your local library and read a newspaper from the 1800s. Know what you’ll find? The news hasn’t changed a bit. The newspapers are still full of people complaining about the economy, taxes, politicians, and war.

The only difference is today we are bombarded with the news as soon as it happens. That can be upsetting and cause anxiety.

The long and short of it is if the news is upsetting to you, turn it off. You don’t have to be ignorant, you just can choose not to swim in it.

That’s it! Now keep an eye out for your next anxiety reducing tip.
