1. Change Your Perspective

When an upcoming event is making you anxious, step back and look at it from a few different vantage points. This will improve your perspective.
For example, if you’re anxious about what might happen at an upcoming meeting, think about the different outcomes that can happen. Now evaluate each outcome according to how likely it is actually going to happen. What you’ll find is the ones that were causing you anxiety are the least likely scenarios.

2. Ask Clarifying Questions

When anxiety or pessimistic thoughts begin to fill your mind, ask clarifying questions such as, “Do I have control over the problem?” and “Is this really a threat or merely something that is making me feel a little uncomfortable?” Your answers to these questions, and others you come up with, can help you face the situation or, if it’s not a real problem, put it completely out of your mind.

3. Use the Feedback Frame

Look, sometimes we all make mistakes. It’s a big part of being human. So, if you do your best and make an error, instead of thinking of the error as a failure, think of it as feedback. Social psychologists call this a growth mindset.

A growth mindset will give you more confidence to face new, uncomfortable situations and cope with them. Now, instead of catastrophizing and feeling fearful you’ll feel confident that, with enough information, you’ll be able to solve this problem too.

4. Stay in Present Moment

Okay, maybe this is more from mindfulness meditation than NLP, but the ability to stay in the present moment and not get carried away by the possibility of future worries is key to overcoming anxiousness. By ruminating about a future full of turmoil, you can put yourself into a never-ending cycle of anxious thinking.
Remember, staying in the present moment is the only way you can truly affect your future.

5. Use the Outcome Frame

If you want to succeed, focus on the outcome you desire. Anxious people have a difficult time making decisions because their brains are filled with the possibilities of catastrophic outcomes. Instead, focus on the outcome you desire. This will make you more open to possibilities and give you the ability to make instant decisions. This allows you to see what the results bring you and then move on to something else.
