According to a recent study smoking is becoming less popular but the total number of smokers has increased to over 1 billion world wide.

Here’s another fact, no matter where those smokers live they all have one thing in common; they are putting their lives and the lives of those around them in danger.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), every year in the United States “443,000 people die prematurely from smoking or exposure to secondhand smoke, and another 8.6 million live with a serious illness caused by smoking.

Nicotine Addiction

Most of these smokers want to quit but as Mark Twain once said, “To quit smoking is one of the easiest things in the world; I must have done it over a dozen times.”

The nicotine found in cigarettes is addictive both physically and psychologically. While a smoker can be free from the physical addiction in less than a week, it’s the psychological addiction that keeps them from giving up their cancer sticks for good.

Overcoming the Psychological Addiction
