You Can Use NLP for Mood Control

Triggers in NLP are known as “anchors”.  The right “trigger” can change your mood from happy and elated to downright disagreeable in a split second. You can use NLP for mood control to snap yourself back into a happy, optimistic state.

The Effect of Anchors

Anchoring is when an external stimulus becomes a trigger that elicits a response. Most often anchors are random. One minute you’re happy and in control. You experience a trigger. Now you’re depressed, angry or sad.

A common example is you hear a song on the radio. Suddenly, your mind fills with sadness. A long time ago you anchored sadness to that song. Now when you hear the song it triggers the emotion of sadness.

 Negative Anchors

Negative anchors can result in a wide range of emotions. For example, anger, fear, dread, guilt, panic and extreme sadness. Some anchors can make you feel depressed. Using NLP for mood control, you can learn to understand how a negative anchor triggers your response. That’s the only way you can do anything about it.

Understanding NLP for Mood Control

Your thoughts and feelings by themselves are neither positive or negative. It’s the label you attached to them that colors your view.

A thought or an emotion is just a thought or emotion. It has no meaning in and of itself. NLP teaches you how to diffuse these negative anchors or triggers.  This is just one of the ways NLP helps to transform you into a much happier and more focused individual.

You Can Change Your Triggers

Your responses to certain anchors or triggers are learned. They are not part of your genetic makeup. Since they’re learned, you can unlearn them. Now you can replace them with triggers you prefer. Using NLP for mood control you can choose triggers that are useful to you. Triggers that will enhance your mood and your life.
