1. How Can I Lose Weight?

2. What’s a Calorie?

A calorie is measure of energy. They are your source of energy, the energy that your body needs for you to move and perform day in and day out.

3. How Much Should I Weigh?

It depends. While there are lots of charts that tell you what your “perfect” weight should be, it has a lot more to do with BMI than your actual weight.

Your BMI or Body Mass Index is the amount of fat your body carries on it in proportion to your entire weight.

According to the Center for Disease control “Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person’s weight and height. BMI provides a reliable indicator of body fatness for most people and is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems.”

Standard measurements for BMI determine that a BMI of <18.5 means that you are underweight, Normal weight is a BMI of 18.5–24.9, a BMI of 25–29.9means you are overweight and a BMI of 30 or greater means you are obese.

  • Instead of focusing on your weight, focus on your BMI.

4. How Can I Lose Weight and Keep it Off?

Losing body-weight involves the self discipline needed to maintain a healthy weight management plan. Healthy weight management involve both diet AND exercise.

A good exercise program is one that involves 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise each day.  It doesn’t matter what you choose to do as long as it’s something you enjoy.

By balancing your energy output with what you’re eating, you’ll shed those additional pounds easily and naturally. By eating only the calories needed for energy, you’ll prevent storing those undesirable fats to store on your body.

5. Should I Reduce My Sugar Intake?

Yes! You should cut down all sugars.

Sugars contain lots of calories, that’s why we like them so much.

The easiest way to reduce your sugar intake is to decrease sodas as well as biscuits, sweets and other enhanced treats.

Also, keep track of those ‘hidden’ carbohydrates in your meals. Check all your food’s ingredients for corn syrup and sucrose.  Both add many calories and little nutrition to your meals.

6. What Are the Best Diets for Weight Loss?

There are many diet plans for weight-loss on the market. You want one that focuses on feeling healthier.

  • Instead of concentrating on weight loss, focus on eating the nutrition needed for a physical wellness and fitness.

7. Should I Weigh Myself Every Day?

No!

Most weight-loss professionals recommend that you weight yourself no more than once a week. Some say you should throw out your scale!

  • The best measurement is if your clothing is feeling loser, you’re doing great.
