1. Eat a quick light lunch and go for a walk.

Instead of sitting around chatting it up with your friends eat a quick light lunch. Then go for a walk. Your walk doesn’t have to be long or strenuous. Even a 10 minute walk around the block can help you burn a few calories.

2. Do Housework for an hour.

Doing housework will help you burn calories and your house will be cleaner too.

If you’re not on the 88th floor skip the elevator and use the stairs. Even if you work on the 40th floor you can take the stairs to the 7th floor and then ride the elevator for the rest of your journey.

10. Stay away from processed foods.

Fresh meats, poultry and fish combined with fresh fruits and vegetables are your best dietary choices. On the other hand, manmade carbohydrates like bread, pasta, crackers, and candy have a lot of calories and not a lot of nutrition.

11. Eat your salad first.

Not only does a salad fill you with fresh vegetables it also fills your stomach making you feel fuller. As long as you combine it with a low-calorie dressing eat a salad before you get starting on the rest of your meal.

12. Use smaller plates.

Studies show that by using a smaller plate you will eat less. Find smaller plates and use them.

13. Take a five minute break every hour.

During your break get up and move. Not only will it help you lose weight, studies have found that you’ll actually get more work done if you take a short break to walk around or stretch each hour.

14. Put off eating for 15 minutes.

When the urge hits you to eat, find something else to do for 15 minutes. Once you’re occupied you might forget completely that you were hungry in the first place.

15. Put a photo of yourself on the refrigerator.

We all look thinner in the mirror. Your photo will remind you of how you really look. So take a full body photo, stick it up on the fridge. It just might make you think twice about that midnight snack.

16. Get up off your seat.

You burn more calories standing up and it’s healthier. If you’re serious about getting to your ideal weight a little faster try standing while watching television.

17. Exchange bad food options with good ones.

You know the foods that aren’t good for you. Every day exchange one of those “bad” foods with a healthier option.

18. Don’t eat in front of the TV.

Studies have found that you’ll eat nearly 300 more calories in front of the television than at the dinner table!

19. Get a good night’s sleep.

Try to get 8 hours of rest. Studies have found that people who have better sleep habits tend to eat less.

20. Limit your serving size.

If you don’t know what a serving size of a particular food should be, look it up. Serving sizes for calorie rich foods are very small. Limit yourself to a single serving.
