One of the most often asked questions I get about Neuro-Linguistic Programming is what is it and how can it help me?
The quick answer is Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a system of processes and techniques you can use to take charge of your life. Once you understand NLP’s basics, you can incorporate them into your own life. This allows you to make the most of it.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming provides its practitioners with ways to better understand themselves. This understanding helps them understand why people say, act and feel the way they do. Continue reading →
In engineering a pillar is what holds up the main structure of a building. It keeps the building from falling. In Neuro-Linguistic Programming, there are four main ideas, or pillars that make up the foundation.
If you are struggling with fear it could be that your fears have taken up residence in your subconscious mind, blocking your success. This affirmation can help focus to overcome your fears by shifting the focus of your subconscious mind.
If you would like to tell yourself “I will not fear failure” and mean it, then read this message out loud to yourself morning and night for the next 21 days.
When clients come to me they often complain that they are stuck, they just can’t seem to get out of their comfort zone and accomplish whatever it is they’d like to accomplish. Using advanced hypnotherapy (hypnosis) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) I can usually help them quickly break out of their comfort zone and get them back on the road to achievement.
What I teach my clients is that in order to take control of your life you need to be able to quickly shift how you experience life.
What does this mean?
Let me tell you a story about six blind men that lived together in a village.
“If you want to succeed in the world must make your own opportunities as you go on. The man who waits for some seventh wave to toss him on dry land will find that the seventh wave is a long time a coming. You can commit no greater folly than to sit by the roadside until some one comes along and invites you to ride with him to wealth or influence.” – John B. Gough
Over the years I’ve talked with lots of clients and friends about how the powerful techniques of advanced hypnotherapy (hypnosis) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can help you live the life of your dreams. I find that many people have very interesting expectations of these therapies. Some people think that that all they have to do is go through a few sessions and then – whamo – their life changes overnight, magically, with no effort of their own.
Well for those of you that think that all you have to do is to go to a few hypnosis and/or NLP sessions to completely change your life I’m here to inform you that this just isn’t true. Although these therapies can be very powerful for shifting your focus, advanced hypnotherapy and NLP are not substitutes for preparing your mind – and therefore your life – for success. You have to do a little work by deciding on the type of life you want to live and the steps necessary to achieve them. While advanced hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can help you with this process it is no substitute for actually sitting down and using your conscious brain to decide what you’d like your life to be like. People often ask me what I do. When I tell them that I am a hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner with an office in San Diego, they often ask, “What can hypnosis do for me? How can hypnosis or NLP help me?”
Usually I tell them that hypnosis and NLP can help them make quick and significant shifts in their thinking.
What types of shifts? Hypnosis and NLP can help you overcome fears, pains, stresses and anxieties. They can help you break bad habits like smoking and develop good ones like exercising. They can help reduce the symptoms of some diseases.
Hypnosis and NLP can help you think differently so that you can eliminate your mental blocks to success while encouraging you to take successful actions you may have avoided in the past.
In short, hypnosis can help catapult you into living the life you desire! Continue reading →
In Part 1 of “How to Transform Your Life” we looked at the 3 steps to setting and achieving goals:
1. Set your goal.
2. Monitor your results (feedback)
3. Adjust your behavior until you achieve your desired outcome
Like I mentioned in part one, I have clients who come to me looking for hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP to change their lives while having no idea of the result they are looking for. In order to get anything in life you have to set an outcome. That was part 1. Now let’s look at part 2.
As a coach that helps people develop their potential I have had a number of clients that come to me wanting to change. So the first thing I do is ask them what they want. Many times they tell me some fuzzy thing that they want or what they don’t want. I have to explain that if they want shift to happen, neither of these approaches works.
Three Steps to Setting and Achieving Goals
Setting and achieving goals is actually simple if you follow three steps. These steps are: Continue reading →
