One of the most asked questions I get is, “What’s the difference between Neuro-Linguistic Programming and hypnosis?” Many people believe that Neuro-Linguistic Programming and hypnosis are the same. That’s because both work with the subconscious mind,
While it is true that they are similar in some ways, there are differences. Today, let’s look at the difference between Neuro-Linguistic Programming and hypnosis. Continue reading →
“If you want to succeed in the world must make your own opportunities as you go on. The man who waits for some seventh wave to toss him on dry land will find that the seventh wave is a long time a coming. You can commit no greater folly than to sit by the roadside until some one comes along and invites you to ride with him to wealth or influence.” – John B. Gough
Over the years I’ve talked with lots of clients and friends about how the powerful techniques of advanced hypnotherapy (hypnosis) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can help you live the life of your dreams. I find that many people have very interesting expectations of these therapies. Some people think that that all they have to do is go through a few sessions and then – whamo – their life changes overnight, magically, with no effort of their own.
Well for those of you that think that all you have to do is to go to a few hypnosis and/or NLP sessions to completely change your life I’m here to inform you that this just isn’t true. Although these therapies can be very powerful for shifting your focus, advanced hypnotherapy and NLP are not substitutes for preparing your mind – and therefore your life – for success. You have to do a little work by deciding on the type of life you want to live and the steps necessary to achieve them. While advanced hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can help you with this process it is no substitute for actually sitting down and using your conscious brain to decide what you’d like your life to be like. People often ask me what I do. When I tell them that I am a hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner with an office in San Diego, they often ask, “What can hypnosis do for me? How can hypnosis or NLP help me?”
Usually I tell them that hypnosis and NLP can help them make quick and significant shifts in their thinking.
What types of shifts? Hypnosis and NLP can help you overcome fears, pains, stresses and anxieties. They can help you break bad habits like smoking and develop good ones like exercising. They can help reduce the symptoms of some diseases.
Hypnosis and NLP can help you think differently so that you can eliminate your mental blocks to success while encouraging you to take successful actions you may have avoided in the past.
In short, hypnosis can help catapult you into living the life you desire! Continue reading →
“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.” – Willie Nelson, American country singer and philosopher
A negative thought from time to time is normal. Negative thinking becomes a problem when it becomes rooted in your subconscious mind. Then you are actually training your subconscious mind for failure, for things you don’t want.
When this happens you need to train your subconscious mind to think differently. You can do this by using techniques found in hypnosis and NLP. You can use the techniques in this article to banish negative thinking. You can use them to rewire your subconscious mind for success. These techniques include positive thinking, positive self talk and positive visualization. Continue reading →
Would you like some things in your life to be different? Are you interested in making some shifts or changes in the direction you are now going? Would you like to experience a life transformation? People often call me requesting information about how hypnosis and NLP can help them transform their lives. They want to make changes or shifts in the direction their life is going. Today I’m going to give you a process you can use to naturally and easily make these shifts and create the life you desire.
The first thing to remember is that changing your life is possible. No matter where you are you are not stuck. Life transformation does require a few key ingredients though. These ingredients are a plan, patience, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
I have been a professional hypnotherapist practicing in San Diego for nearly a decade. Now I’ve been practicing hypnotherapy for a lot longer than that, in fact when I owned and operated my martial arts schools I helped the students who trained with me excel using visualization techniques I’d learned from hypnosis.
I started learning about hypnosis when I was studying Psychology at the University of San Diego back in the early 80’s. Since then I’ve come to understand that hypnosis is one of the most effective catalysts for positive changes anyone can use.
“The more man meditates upon good thoughts the better will be his world and the world at large.” – Confucius
Confucius hit the nail on the head. If you continually think positive thoughts your world gets better. On the other hand if you are constantly thinking negative thoughts your life gets worse. This is because your thinking controls your focus. So instead of developing the world of your dreams, a negative focus actually attracts the things you don’t want into your life.
There are a number of different methods to help you change your focus. By drawing on techniques used in hypnosis and NLP, you can transform your thinking and your life. Instead of merely getting by, you’ll find that your life can truly be exceptional. By using positive thinking, you will teach your mind to focus on positive solutions rather than your challenges.
“Randomized controlled trials have provided good evidence that both hypnosis and relaxation techniques can reduce anxiety, and prevent panic disorders and insomnia.” – British Medical Journal, 1999
Are your bad habits becoming increasingly irksome? Wouldn’t you love to erase the mental blocks that are keeping you from achieving the success you desire?
You can. How? You can use hypnosis to rewire your subconscious thinking.
Hypnosis works because it allows you to tap into the part of the mind that controls 90% of your beliefs, attitudes, thoughts, and actions – your subconscious mind!
What is Hypnosis Used For?
Hypnosis has been around probably since the beginning of time in some manner or another. While most people experience hypnosis at a show as entertainment, people who have experienced hypnosis techniques in a clinical setting will tell you that the experience can be very beneficial. It gives them a more positive mental outlook about how they can manage the events and issues in their lives. It is this new attitude about their events and issues that create new ways of behaving.
